El Tesoro, the treasure, is a wonderful Typica variety with all the classic flavors we love in coffee — citrus, stone fruit, and a hint of tropical fruit.
Once she inherited El Tesoro from her mother over 10 years ago, Carolina Yara's life changing coffee journey began. With the help of her husband and children, Carolina has turned the land into a sustainable farm with their home and processing facilities on site. Half of their 6.5 hectare farm is dedicated to four coffee varieties, while the other land includes forest reserve, fruit trees, and other crops.
Only ripe cherries were collected, sorted by density, de-pulped and fermented in tanks for 24 hours. After the coffee beans were washed they dried on canopies for 18 to 23 days.
