Laurina - Indonesia (100g)

€14.00

Java is home to large coffee estates, a result of its history as one of Indonesia’s first coffee cultivators during the Dutch colonial period. It remains a significant producer of arabica coffee, especially on the eastern side near the Ijen volcano.

Supriyanto, a farmer in the Ijen mountain range, grows Laurina coffee on a small plot. This variety is known for its sweet flavor and low caffeine content (0.8%), making it one of the most challenging but rewarding to grow. Though originally from another mutation of Laurina, Supriyanto's farm successfully cultivates this exotic coffee despite climate challenges like heavy rainfall and disease.

The coffee is processed anaerobically for 120 hours, then naturally dried, resulting in a clean, citric acidity and well-balanced sweetness.

  • Origin: Indonesia
  • Process: Natural anaerobic
  • Variety: Laurina
  • Tasting Notes: Macadamia, guava & cacao nibs
