Fin.
Originally from West Cork, Finbarr Kinmonth Duerden comes from a background in architecture, a discipline that continues to influence his approach to design. He began his journey in goldsmithing under the guidance of his father, a skilled goldsmith himself, who provided Finbarr with a strong foundation in traditional techniques.
Drawn to the precision and artistry of stone setting, Finbarr spent a year teaching himself the craft before refining his skills further through hands-on experience in the trade. working under a microscope, he developed a meticulous attention to detail that now defines his distinctive style.
Collection 01 explores the pushback against norms and regular lines - a once unconscious reaction to years of linear shapes in architecture. It inquisitively challenges the gender assumptions that jewellery has acquired over many years, taking influence from nature and finding small moments of joy in colour.
