Rooibos Geisha is the variety that outshines all others. These cherries naturally have a noticeably different coffee DNA. Today, there is a kind of global treasure hunt for the best lots. Elbgold have found it with their long-time friend Roberto Mata in Costa Rica in the Dota Valley.
Roberto has been growing coffee on his 4-hectare Finca Las Nubes for 25 years and the geisha variety for the last three years. The coffee plants grow at 1800m - in the clouds - between cedar, guava and banana trees. With almost 50 years of experience in coffee, Roberto simply knows everything about growing and processing coffee. He prepared the cherries in this nanolot as honey. The result is a very elegant, super sweet and fruity coffee with notes of nectarine, pear and jasmine. And we are lucky that we were able to bring the entire harvest of this exclusive coffee - a total of six sacks - to Hamburg, because Roberto actually wanted to take part in the Cup of Excellence with his geisha. We are also very happy that we were able to secure the next harvest!
