Lyocell, originally trademarked in 1982 as Tencel, is a form of rayon. It consists of cellulose fibre, made from dissolving pulp and then reconstituting it by dry jet-wet spinning. The fibre is used to make textiles for clothing and other purposes

An entirely new material, Tencel has become the go-to fabric for eco-conscious brands in recent years. Lyocell has gained a reputation for its environmentally responsible closed-loop production process, which transforms wood pulp into cellulosic fibres with low environmental impact. Not only is it produced from a natural resource, it is also 100% biodegradable meaning it can revert fully back to nature.

No doubt a game-changing fabric for the environment, Tencel is also an amazing fabric for garments. It provides highly breathable products comparable to linen and silk, without the price tag. It has little structure also making the products have an elegant drape that suits loose-fitting trousers and shirts.

This season we have several Tencel/Lyocell options. Check them out here.
